“Spleenhouse” involved relocating a heritage greenhouse from a farm in LaSalle, Ontario to the Art Gallery of Windsor. In the gallery, video footage of French-Canadian farmers–who are losing their land to urban sprawl–was projected on the roof of the greenhouse. Traditional vegetable plants were grown inside the greenhouse using the non-full-spectrum light of the projector. This is a “spatial nemesis” project that allowed the stucture to impose itself on the city that is squeezing it off of its land.¬†The same piece of land is also featured in the project¬†Treachery.
