“Myth of the Steersman” reworks the myth and mystery of Tom Thomson’s death into an interactive, remotely activated installation. The project involved restoring an antique cedar and canvas canoe, painting it according to Tom Thomson’s own recipe, equipping it with three Internet-enabled touch-screen interfaces, and wrapping it in 7 kilometres of fishing line.
